About me
I was born on a family farm in rural southwestern Kentucky into a family of farmers and builders who cherished old homes. As a family we were always working on houses, including our 1856 farmhouse that we still own today.
When I started imagining my professional life, the “Designing Women” on tv were strong, creative women who influenced not only interior design but their community and that inspired me to pursue a career in interior design. After high school, I studied interior design and worked for a builder as a punch-out painter. That is where I perfected my cutting-in skills and started to learn about building and repairing newer homes.
Life took me from Kentucky to Illinois to Virginia to South Carolina and finally to Oregon. Along the way I shifted from design to focusing on construction and installation. I became more of a product and installation specialist.
Over my three and a half decades in the industry, I’ve spent about two and a half of those in the Portland Oregon market. In that time, I have built strong relationships with showrooms, product manufacturers and distributors, fabricators, designers, builders, installers and many other specialized trades and services. My decades of experience and industry connections allow me to give homeowners valuable perspective about their projects, ask and answer questions about products and processes and connect them with the materials and professionals they need to move forward with their home improvement projects.
